About Me

I'm excited to start a new year at Oakleaf Village. I hope you have had a great summer and are ready to come back to school. This is my 25th  year of teaching. When I was in first grade, I  "proclaimed" that I would be a teacher one day. There are over 200 years of teaching experience in my family. I think it was just meant to be.

I graduated from Eastern Illinois University and moved to Jacksonville in 1987. I have taught kindergarten, first, third, fifth, and sixth grades. I have worked as the media specialist and a literacy trainer for teachers at my school. I worked for DODDS in Japan and then spent the last nine years in Clay County.

My husband is retired from the Navy and we live here in Oakleaf with our twin boys that are in the 9th grade at OLH. We have a pet  lizard named Kiki and a turtle named Annabeth.    I enjoy reading, working in the yard, and being with my family.   This year you'll find me at the Phase 2 pool for swim practice and swim meets or at the concession stands at the high school games.
